Festival season is in full gear and here in Chicago we are gearing up for one of the biggest music festivals of the summer season- Lollapalooza (more affectionately known as Lolla). I’m not going to be able to make it this year but I thought I’d put together a list of some festival must-haves so those of you that are going to Lolla (or any other festival) have the best experience possible.
Sun protection
There is nothing more unfashionable (and painful!) than a sunburn so make sure to pack some sunscreen, a floppy hat and your favorite sunglasses to protect you from the hot summer sun.
Oil blotting sheets
One of my favorite products for the summer months, oil blotting sheets will keep your face looking fresh.
Refillable water bottles
It’s essential to drink plenty of water while you are outside all day, especially with this heat wave we’ve been having here in Chicago!
Gum
Keep your breath minty fresh with some gum.
Portable phone charger
You’ll want to send snaps and share ‘grams of your favorite moments but won’t be able to do so when your phone dies.
Toilet paper or flushable wipes
Let’s face it… you are going to have to use the bathroom while you are at the festival and port-a-potties are not the cleanest places in the world. And am I the only one that always picks the one that’s out of toilet paper? When the sun goes down it can get a little chilly, even during the summer months, so having a light sweater in your bag will come in handy during those times.
Makeup setting spray
To make sure you look just as good after hours in the heat as you did when you first started the day make sure to spray some makeup setting spray on your face. ‘Melted’ is not a good look for anyone ;)
Lip balm
Just like you want to keep your body hydrated you will want to keep your lips hydrated so they don’t crack as you are singing along to your favorite song.

I haven’t been to a summer festival in a few years, but many of the things on your list are on my beach list :)
Lots of good items listed here! Even if I bring sunscreen, I always forget to bring a hat and so the top of my head tends to get sunburned. Maybe one day I’ll learn!

I love having moist wipes readily available. They keep me fresh and clean anytime of day!
It has been forever since I’ve been to a summer festival. I really miss it. I always brought baby wipes, because its a great stain remover, cleanses the face, and cleans almost everything. I would also bring a refillable water bottle. Your list is full of really smart items to bring when you go to any festival.
Extra deodorant is a must! Sometimes it can get pretty hot and you might need to re-apply. Love this list!

I have seriously not been to a summer music festival in a while. I have been trying to get to one, but my busy schedule just doesn’t allow the time for it. If I do get out to one, I will keep your tips in mind.

These are all such great must haves. Water would be on my list too. I always carry water wherever I go.
These are all great festival essentials. I love to go spend the day at an event. I always pack sunscreen and snacks.
A big hat and sunglasses is so important if you will be outside all day. I always have sunscreen and wet wipes in my bag.

I wish they’d make the Cottonelle wipes in a much thinner, smaller package. I couldn’t fit that one in my purse, so I hope they think even more portable!
Living in California there are a lot of fun festivals here, like that you have a great list here. Cottonelle wipes are a must in our house!!
It’s been a while since I’ve been to a festival. I have been the unlucky one who has used the one with no toilet paper. It’s a great idea to have some wipes on hand.
