It’s hard to believe that in just a few weeks, we will be changing our clocks back from Daylight Saving Time.  This year the time change is on November 4 and it also marks the 25th anniversary of the annual Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® program.  Working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are so important in helping to keep families safe in their homes so make sure that you change the batteries in your smoke alarms when you change your clock.

Thirty-eight percent of fatal fire injuries occur in homes with no smoke alarms, while 24 percent occur in homes in which at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate, frequently due to dead or missing batteries.

  30. In the past we have always changed them on New Years Day(easy to remember), but,
    for some unknown reason my husband changed them all yesterday.

  52. We change our smoke detector batteries as needed. I think the lastone went out a few weeks ago. They chirp until we change them!
