This is a sponsored post but all thoughts are my own.
I’ve loved working with Pictures on Gold over the past couple of years. I’ve made lockets for myself with photos of my three kids, one for my mom (birthmom) with photos of all her grandkids, and even one for my young daughter with photos of her and I. This past month I designed a locket for myself in memory of my mom (stepmom) who passed away in 2009.
My mom actually gave me one of my first lockets when I was a little girl. It had a photo of her and my dad in it. Over the years, the photos in the locket frayed on the edges a little bit but it was still one of my most cherished pieces of jewelry. It means even more now that my mom is not here with me.
I love that Pictures on Gold has advanced the photo jewelry category with their digital design options. No longer do you have to worry about tattered photo edges because they have new technology that uses lasers to put the images into the lockets, making the images 100% waterproof and scratch-proof.
I also love that they can pretty much work with any photo you have. I don’t have many digital images of my mom but they were able to use the couple I gave them, including the above photo taken on an old cell phone. It wasn’t the best quality but it was one of the last photos that had been taken of her and was the one shared at her funeral. They edited the background so the focus is on her face.
The other picture I wanted to use was the day of my parents’ wedding in 1989. It was a picture of my mom, dad, brother, and I. My mom is in her wedding dress and I am sitting on her lap in a fancy dress with the biggest smile on my face and a head full of curls. That day is one I want to remember forever and they were able to take that photo and edit it to fit in the locket. Years ago it wouldn’t have been possible to use that photo in a locket because our heads are too far apart but Pictures on Gold was able to edit the photo in a way that made it so our heads were closer and would fit into the heart shaped locket.
