Thanks to Raging Waves Waterpark for sponsoring this post.
School starts in a couple weeks here so we are trying to squeeze the last bit of fun out of it as we can. One thing we did this past weekend was head to the waterpark. Surprisingly, it was the first time we’d made it to a waterpark all summer but it’s one of our favorite seasonal activities.
The boys enjoyed the day with their cousins at Raging Waves, the largest waterpark in Illinois. Sitting on 45 acres in Yorkville, the park hosts a huge wave pool, lazy river, 20 waterslides, a kiddie play structure, zero-depth pool, and a sandy beach area.
Their favorite activity of the day was going on the various waterslides. I was proud of all four of them because they were brave and went on everything they could, from PJ’s Plummet (the 72 foot high body slide) to the Cyclone (a super fast raft ride).
Jacob and Camden’s favorite ride was the Wonambi -the newest ride at the park that sends guests into near-vertical, zero gravity moments.
Lucas and Maddie loved the Boomerang, a raft ride which starts off in a chute before dropping you quickly into a funnel, the most.
All the kids also enjoyed going around in the lazy river, though there was nothing “lazy” about this experience. The kids liked running around the river instead of relaxing on it!
For those with younger kids, they’ll enjoy the Kangaroo Falls play area. This four-story water fort is full of super-soaking fun. Kids can splash down the slides, race across the bridges, and play in the squirting fountains.
Overall, we had a great day and look forward to going back there before they close on Labor Day.
If you haven’t had a day of splashtastic fun at the waterpark, what are you waiting for!?
Going to the waterpark sounds like the perfect way to close out the summer! It’s so much fun to play all day in the water and the sun.
It looks like you guys had a great time! That is one big waterpark. There really is nothing better than playing in the water together as a family.
Oh fun! I love that slide with the big funnel thing at the end. That looks like an exciting one.
We are hoping to go at the end of the month for a friend’s birthday. We just hope the weather cooperates.
We love waterparks! They are a great way to have family togetherness and have a blast all at the same time!
There’s nothing like a fun water park! Both of my children go nuts for any type of water play!
We love the waterpark. We can buy a season pass, and are always sorry when the season ends. Ahh back to school.
Is there any better way to have fun and stay cool in the summer? Waterparks are always so much fun and the excitement is legendary! It looks like a great place to have an amazing time!
Water parks are a great way to have fun with the kids and keep cool. These are great photos. It looks like everyone had a blast.
We have a water park near by and the kids love it. We need to make one more trip before the end of the summer.
A trip to the waterpark would be super nice right now. Raging Waves sounded amazing. I’d love to visit!
That chute raft ride looks like the MOST fun! What a great way to celebrate summer.
I love, love, LOVE a good waterpark! My kids are just so smitten with them too and would love a visit to this place.
That looks like so much fun! I absolutely love waterparks. This one looks like a BEAST!
Wow, those waterslides look fun, especially the cyclone. But truth be told, I would probably be in the lounge chair, just glad to see them all having fun.
What a cool looking waterpark! I love taking my gets to the waterpark and what a great way to end summer.
My daughter and I have never been to a water park before – we’ve been thinking about planning something, and boy does this look amazing!!
We love the waterpark in the summer! Partly because it means the cell phones have to stay in the bags and busy parents can be in the moment with the kids!
Visiting a Waterpark is always fun. My kids love waterpark. They enjoy the rides.
