15 Activities To Keep Kids Busy When They Are Sick

Nobody likes to be sick so I wanted to share some ways to make a sick day fun for kids. All of these can be done from the couch! SICK DAY ACTIVITIES

  • Have a movie marathon
  • Eat treats like popsicles that make a sore throat feel better
  • Play some board games together
  • Cut out paper strips and make a paper chain to decorate the house
  • Let your child play with special toys from the rainy day box
  • Color in a coloring book
  • Let your child help plan your next family vacation
  • Read books from the library
  • Make playdough creations
  • Make thank you cards for members of the military (here’s where to send them)
  • Make sock puppets and put on a puppet show for the family
  • Paint nails
  • Play a game on a tablet
  • Look through photo albums together
  • Put together a puzzle

  1. On a sick day my kids usually have a fever, so I try to get them to swim around a bit in the pool in hopes of cooling them down!

  2. There really isn’t anything considered fun on my sons sick days but I think if you ask him its fun to play his favorite Xbox games all day with no limit bc he is sick so his exempt from the 1 hour rule for the day.

  3. she will usually sleep in and get plenty of rest. Then when she starts to feel a little better she will watch some TV or play a video game or go online.

  4. On a sick day my son and I usually make popcorn and watch movies together. He loves just laying in my bed watching movies while he recovers

  6. My kiddo’s love to curl up on the couch with their stuffed animals and watch movies when they’re sick! I usually give them a new coloring book and a new pack of crayons, just to add a little fun too!

  7. When my daughter was little we would get her all snug on the couch. She could watch all her movies all day. She would get lots of love,snuggles and popsicles. I could use this since my sweet little niece decided to share her cold with me. Thank you for the chance :)
