Maternity Worldwide- Save A Life This Christmas

Having a baby should be a time of great joy and hope. But every year across the world 287,000 women die in pregnancy and childbirth. That’s one mother dying every 2 minutes, 800 each day. These women do not need to suffer and die; most lives could be saved relatively easily and cheaply. Many mothers die as a result of conditions which would be treated routinely in other parts of the world, for example complications from high blood pressure and hemorrhages at delivery.

This year for Christmas you can give the gift of life to a mother in sub Saharan Africa. For less than $25 you can sponsor a safe birth. Want to sponsor an emergency caesarean for a mother? You can do so for around $80. Wouldn’t that make a great gift for someone who has just given birth themselves or for the person who seems to have everything? You can find out more about Maternity Worldwide here.
