I am down two pounds from last week! Woohoo! I now weigh 186.8 and have a BMI of 30.1. So far during this challenge I have lost 4.8 pounds. I have been eating healthier and using my George Foreman grill to “knock out the fat” in my meat.
I have been noticing recently that I tend to turn to food when I’m stressed out or bored. I’ve found myself taking breaks from what I’m doing to walk into the kitchen for something to eat. I’ll open the fridge, then the freezer, and then the snack cabinet. IÂ used to grab whatever looked good at the time. Now I open them up but I ask myself the following questions- “Am I hungry?” and “Is that healthy?” If I’m not hungry I will get a water bottle and walk out of the kitchen. If I am hungry I will look for a low calorie snack. I have found this to be helpful in losing weight because eating when I’m not hungry out of boredom, stress, or another emotion does nothing but put the weight on. I sure don’t feel less stressed, less bored, or happier after I am done eating whatever it was I chose to snack on.
(Disclosure: I am part of the George Foreman Knock Out The Fat Weight Loss Challenge. I am being compensated for participating in this challenge but all thoughts are my own.)
It’s hard to break that mindless eating habit, but you’re doing a great job! Congrats on the weight loss so far!
Congrats on your successful weight loss! Would love to hear some of the fun recipes you have tried. Yes, as a mindless eater, emotional eater, and diet saboteur with food… I know it is tough. Keep going and keep it in mind when you take a bite. Have a great week.
Progress! Always good. Glad to see you’re doing so well with the challenge! It’s a great opportunity. I notice more and more how I eat emotionally, and I’m trying to be mindful of it, but can’t always do it. Baby steps!
I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to break that habit – I do it too! I often catch myself doing it, so I round up the kids and say – what can we do together? Usually they answer – let’s play duck duck goose (which means I chase them around the parked van). Have a great week!
Congrats on the loss during the campaign. I am glad you are recognizing your eating habits and ways to alter them. Habits can be broken.
4 pounds! Girl I gotta get me a grill.
