One year ago today an earthquake hit Haiti and claimed the lives of over 220,000 people. Haiti is still rebuilding after this tragedy and you and I can help by purchasing something from Macy’s Heart Of Haiti Project.
The Heart of Haiti Project, according to the website, features crafts that “reflect a rich culture and history and the Haitians’ unwavering drive to rebuild their lives in the face of tremendous adversity”. The proceeds from the Heart of Haiti purchases “help provide better nutrition, improved education and healthcare”.
Here is one of the items in the shop, a papier-mache watermelon bowl that is signed by the artisan :
They also have a beautiful Heart of Haiti tray that I love!
I hope that if you are planning on making any purchases in the near future you will consider buying an item from the Heart of Haiti Project.
(Disclosure: I was selected for this very special “CleverHaiti” opportunity by Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity. All opinions are my own.)
