I love the Holiday season! I enjoy decorating the house, baking Christmas cookies, giving gifts and all the extra time spent with family. The holidays are also a time to get dressed up, whether it’s for Church on Christmas Eve, pictures with cousins, or Holiday parties.
One of my favorite stores to shop at for the boys is The Children’s Place. I get the majority of the boys clothes from this store, especially my favorite plaid and argyle prints for both Easter and Christmas. I love putting the boys in matching clothes but this year I also decided to do some coordinating outfits for them.
I shopped TCP online and bought a variety of pieces that I could mix and match. I chose three dress shirts (two plain and one plaid), a vest, a sweater, a plaid tie, and 3 pants (denim, burgundy red and gray). When the kids were younger I used to always put them in dress pants but now that they are older I normally pair their dressy shirts with dark denim jeans. I bought gray as an alternative to the normal black dress pant. Also, I love the idea of red pants for the holiday so that’s why I bought the burgundy pair. I figured it was a great shade of red that could be worn throughout the colder months and not just in December.
Here are the pieces I paired together:
The gray dress shirt matches perfectly with the gray in the arygle sweater and also the tie. I loved the layered look with the sweater and then the tie underneath.
I love how the plaid shirt brings a pop of color to the basic black and gray pieces. The little vest is absolutely adorable and looks cute over the shirt by itself or paired with a blazer. I also pulled out the gray coat we bought at The Children’s Place last year which pairs perfectly with all of the outfits they will be wearing this holiday season.
White shirts are classic and make the boys look so grown up, especially when paired with that festive tie!
Most of the shirts I chose go with the jeans or gray pants. The burgundy ones really didn’t match much of what I bought because the reds were different shades but I loved the pants with the white dress shirt. The gray vest and gray coat went well with the outfit, too.
Another thing I buy at The Children’s Place around the Holidays are matching pajamas. I absolutely LOVE the pair I bought this year. I don’t normally buy one piece pj’s for the kids but I just couldn’t resist these striped pajamas!
