I’ll be honest, in between getting the boys ready for school, checking email, packing Luke’s lunch, and starting my work day, I don’t ever have breakfast if Sinisa isn’t home to make it for me. Normally I will just have some coffee and that’s it. By mid-morning I am starving and checking to see what snacks I can grab to eat while working.
When I heard about Quaker’s new Breakfast Shakes I wasn’t sure what to expect. I love a number of Quaker products but normally breakfast shakes taste like flavored ground chalk. {Well they do! Don’t they?} I remember drinking my mom’s when I was in elementary school and junior high and they were grainy in texture and not that appetizing.
I’m happy to say that the Quaker Breakfast Shakes were absolutely delicious. Even though they had oats in them there was not a single bit of texture in the shakes. The oats were ground so fine that the shakes were silky smooth. I loved the chocolate shake the most. I tried the strawberry one and found that I enjoyed that one as well.
The best part about the shakes is the fact that they are truly a “breakfast”. Having one in the morning filled me up and I didn’t find myself digging through my fridge and my pantry to find something to snack on. That’s a lot of calories I’m avoiding each day just by avoiding the chips or candy.
Being able to drink them while checking things off my to-do list or running an errand. That’s just a bonus! I will be buying some next time I go to the grocery store to make sure I’m starting my day off right.
Too bad they’re artificially flavored. :(
