This is my friend Tracy and her family, husband Aaron, son Jack, and son Logan.
See this little boy below? He’s a fighter!
Logan was welcomed into the world on January 17, 2009. When he came to Tracy after delivery, he was a little blue. While in the nursery for a bath with the nurses,  he stopped breathing and they moved him to the NICU. Quickly after, they found out that he had a heart condition called Tricuspid Artesia. His medical journey began there.
His first year of life was spent taking care of his heart problems and fighting several colds. To work on his heart condition, he had two major heart surgeries. It was there that they discovered he also had other congenital defects such as an extra digit on his thumb and an undersized outer ear. He also has an inverted 17th chromosome, the effects of which we are unsure. Logan also has hearing loss and vision problems. He has a paralyzed vocal chord from the result of his heart surgeries, so this has effected his swallowing and he has needed thickened liquids to drink for nourishment.
At the beginning of his second year of life, they went to the hospital for a routine MRI of his eye and discovered that Logan has a small pituitary gland, for which he now receives a daily shot of growth hormone to keep his blood sugar stable. They also discovered Portal Vein Thrombosis, which has started a whole new series of complications. The Portal Vein Thrombosis is caused by a blood clot in his portal vein. This has caused varices (imagine varicose veins on your insides) to be enlarged due to high pressure in the network of veins. He has had several bleeds from his varices and so they have started treatment with a scope and scorlosis. This past August, he had another major surgery where the surgeon removed varices from his stomach and esophagus. Due to his size, not all the varices were removed. In September he had another scope where varices in his upper esophagus were treated.   He also spent much of the winter of early 2010 in the hospital with respiratory infections.
More information about Logan can be found on his website, Pray For Logan.
This little boy has gone through so much so to help the family with their medical bills a fundraiser is being held.
