I am joining Ann Voskamp from A Holy Experience in listing my “gifts” or things I’m thankful for each week. Here are some things I am thankful for from yesterday which was Mother’s Day.
1. I’m thankful for my mother and the fact that I got to see her. I know a lot of women have lost their mothers, don’t communicate with their mothers, or don’t live close to their mothers.
2. I am thankful that my sister and I got to visit my stepmom’s grave but more than that I am thankful that I will see her again in Heaven.
3. I am thankful that my mom and my children were kept safe yesterday. They were in a minor auto accident on their way to my house and I am thankful that they weren’t injured (other than a few sore muscles).
4. I am thankful that I was able to sleep in yesterday, even if it was only a couple of hours. I woke up feeling refreshed and that was a great feeling.
5. I am thankful for Starbucks Iced Mochas. That was my treat yesterday for Mother’s Day :)
What are you thankful for?
I am thankful for my two beautiful children who make me a mother (so I can celebrate Mother’s Day for myself!).
I am thankful for my mother.
I am thankful for my stepmothers, who make life wonderful for my dad and father-in-law.
I am thankful I will see my mother-in-law again in heaven.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband, who gave me the day off yesterday.
I am thankful that I woke up this morning and get to spend another day with my family.
I am thankful for chocolate!

I love it when new people join in the thankfulness journey, and I’ve only been doing it for a few weeks.
Welcome to the gratitude community. Lovely post. :)
I’m thankful for all you said plus a million more! God is good, and I’m thankful I will see my Father in heaven.
Thanks for the beautiful reminder. With the news being filled with sad reminders of those who were not alive to be with their mothers, I spent Mother’s Day being thankful that my college daughter was home with me… That one thing alone was the most important gift I could have had.
Lovely post and a wonderful reminder for me. I must start this as well!
